What’s Your Current Life Balance Score?

Chances are you have a sense of how well you are balancing work, family, and fitness.  I think everybody knows when they’re feeling out of balance—it’s an intrinsic feeling. But many of us are not exactly sure how out of balance we are.

Are we spending too much time at work? Not enough time with our family and friends? Too much time commuting? Exercising too much? (Yes, that’s a thing!) Not exercising enough? The purpose of this quiz is to determine whether you’re missing the mark narrowly—or by a wide margin.

This quiz is meant to provide a gut check, a way for you to be honest with yourself and take inventory of where you are at right now in terms of balancing family, work, and fitness . . . and then from there, to be able to take action. It’s a wake-up call.

Why do I call it the KIT Quiz?  KIT stands for Keep It Tight.  How well are you “keepin’ it tight” in life? In other words, are you managing to keep things in balance?

Your results will be displayed on the Tightness Meter or Balance Meter.  I had fun with the scoring, basing it on 4 levels of Tightness/Balance:

  • Super Tight

  • Pretty Tight

  • Barely Tight

  • Not Tight!

Life-Balance Meter

If you score “Super Tight” it means you’re leading a balanced life.  If you score a “Not Tight”, don’t worry! It just means that its time to assess things in your life and reprioritize family, friends, work, and, of course, fitness.

Balance comes and goes throughout life, no one is perfect.  So try to answer the questions based on how the last 2-4 weeks of your life have played out.  Without further ado, here’s the quiz! (Don’t take this too seriously!)

A full version of the KIT quiz, along with bonus questions, is available inside The Everyday Athlete.
